HardCoreSwim names Mike Lewis as Director

HardCoreSwim, Inc., the new leader in custom swim wear and apparel announced the appointment of Mike Lewis to the position of Director of Open Water.

Lewis has been an open water swimmer for nearly three decades and a United States Lifesaving Association national champion. He is a diverse waterman who was an ocean lifeguard on San Diego beaches for over 10 years. Mike has also worked with a wide range of athletes including Olympians and World Record Holders. He was as an administrator in the U.S. Olympic movement for 10 years and was a team director for the 2000 Olympic Games. 

Lewis has notched top ranked finishes in several open water swimming events throughout the world and was one of the first persons to cross Walloon Lake in northern Michigan. Mike is also active in United States Masters Swimming and has held numerous top ten rankings.

Mike has been an open water swimming correspondent for SwimSwam.com, Swimming World Magazine and Swimming World TV. His international coverage features the top elite performers, notable figures and dynamic stories from with world of open water swimming. Mike's passion and commitment to open water swimming is evident in his continuing efforts to promote and build the sport at all levels.

Mike is a graduate of University of California, San Diego and holds a Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology from San Diego State University. He currently lives in San Clemente, California with his wife Cynthia and their dog Syd.
