Quiksilver announces launch of Roxy Outdoor Fitness Line

Quiksilver, the board sport and active wear company, has announced launch of a new product line for its Roxy label.
 
The new range called Roxy Outdoor Fitness would include surf-oriented apparels and accessories like sportswear and accessories, especially meant to cater the outdoor fitness needs.
 
The line would be offered to teenage girls and women who are into hiking, paddle-boarding, running, yoga, volleyball and other outdoor sports activities.
 
The apparel range would have attributes like UV resistance, soft flat-lock seams for reduced chafing, four-way stretch, water-repellent fabrics, moisture-wicking fabrics and zone-mesh ventilation.
 
Roxy General Manager, Susan Branch, said they are thrilled to launch a new fashion and performance product line that motivates and enables girls to gear up for adventures.
 
Factors like rising competition and bad investments posed several challenges for the Huntington Beach, California-based company, and it has been incurring net losses over the past four fiscals.
 
For fiscal ending October 31, 2011, the company incurred a net loss of US$ 21.26 million on US$ 1.95 billion in revenues.
 
The company sold its failing Rossignol winter-sports equipment division in 2008 for a price of US$ 147 million, which is even less than half the price the company paid when it purchased it in 2005.
