Kastoria Furriers to soon have new exhibition centre

The new Exhibition Centre of the Kastoria Furriers Association ‘The Prophet Elias’ will soon be a reality, following the signing of the relevant contract with the contracting company, which will hand over the completed building next February – ready to house the 38th International Fur Fair of Kastoria from 4-7 April 2013.

The efforts over the last four years by the Administration of the Kastorian Fur Association to secure the construction of a contemporary exhibition centre for the fur trade have finally borne fruit. Fur is perhaps the only product enjoying growing sales in the current economic climate, and the old E.DI.KA S.A. building, where the Fair has been held in the past, was no longer large enough to meet the needs of all those wishing to display goods at the Fair.

The construction company SOLIS has undertaken to have the building ready for handover by 28/2/2013.

On the subject of the new Exhibition Centre, the President of the Kastorian Fur Association Mr. Kallisthenis emphasized that «Other fairs will also be held in the new building. The total surface area will be 13.000 m2, and the venue will be used in line with the needs of each event. Both I and the Administration of the Kastorian Fur Association are delighted to see this project going ahead. It is an investment in the future of Kastoria, and of Western Macedonia more generally.

Potential exhibitors have already begun to express interest in participation in the Fair, declaring the number of square metres they wish to occupy. Official registration will commence over the next few days at the premises of the Kastoria Furriers Association.

Finally, it is worth pointing out that at the 37th International Fur Fair of Kastoria, held last May, Transactions Completed by the 160 traders with stands at the Fair Amounted in Value to literally tens of millions of Euro.
