Aurora Fashions, the group behind some of the UK’s most internationally respected women’s fashion  brands – Coast, Oasis and Warehouse – was recognised in three categories at Retail Week’s 8 th Skillsmart Rising Stars Awards.

Joanne Dixon from Coast picked up the Head Office Support Team Individual of the Year, while two highly commended recognitions were awarded to Katy Brown from Oasis for  Online Team Individual of the Year and Gemma Scarfe from Warehouse for Buyer / Merchandiser  Team Individual of the Year.

Julia Durbin, People and Organisational Development Director at Aurora, said: “Recognising and nurturing top talent is key within our business and these three prizes really demonstrate our  excellence and success in this field. Congratulations to all of our nominees and we look forward to  seeing how their careers progress our business in the future.”

Nicola Harrison, news editor of Retail Week, commented: “Celebrating talent in the retail sector has never been more important. More than ever retailers need to attract top people into their businesses as they battle the tough trading environment. These awards recognise those that are making a real difference to the retail businesses they work in.”

As part of the group’s ongoing strategic commitment to investing in and nurturing talent in the industry, Aurora recently launched an academically-accredited retail talent initiative for employees.

Developed in partnership with University of Derby Corporate (UDC), the Aspire2Accelerate' training programme gives staff the opportunity to work towards the achievement of a full university degree in  retail management.

Aurora Fashions owns, develops and manages the performance of some of the UK’s most respected women’s fashion brands - Coast, Oasis and Warehouse - which are all aimed at the higher end of the market.
