Starbright ties up with Benetton Kids for Care Bears line

Care Bears are spreading  the love  as  American Greetings Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, announced a worldwide licensing agreement with the Benetton Group Kids Department, the parent company of United Colors of Benetton. The global retailer will launch a Care Bears apparel program inspired by the colorful pop culture icons and negotiated by AGP’s agent in Italy, Starbright Srl. 

The Care Bears program will launch with a line of apparel for babies and children which will debut in United Colors of Benetton stores around the world in Spring/Summer 2013. Product will be available  at the United Colors of Benetton Kids stores  located  in approximately 120 countries.
 
“We are very happy to be partnering with the Benetton Group on this exciting Care Bears program,” said Carla Silva, vice president of global licensing for American Greetings Properties.
 
“United Colors of Benetton’s values are in tune with the Care Bears world, especially with the use of color and promoting universal communication. We can’t wait to see the loveable Care Bears find a home in United Colors of Benetton Kids stores all around the world, and we are confident that consumers of all ages will be drawn to the collection.”
 
Upon their debut in 1982, Care Bears quickly became a global sensation, causing near riots as moms and dads vied to get their hands on the new characters. The Care Bears represent different emotions through endearing symbols on their tummies, called belly badges, and include Tenderheart Bear, Cheer Bear, Grumpy Bear, Share Bear, Harmony Bear and Funshine Bear. Over the past decade, the Care Bears have continued to connect with kids, tweens and parents with licensed products. The new television series “Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot”is currently  airing on The Hub cable TV network and features everyone’s favorite bears in exciting new adventures.
