Start London unveils luxury fabrics A/W clothing line

January 24, 2013 (United Kingdom)

Mr. Start’s autumn / winter 2013 collection delivers a firm statement: the brand excels at more than suiting. The signature tailoring is as skilled as ever, though now equaled by developments in fine knitwear, luxury outerwear and coordinating accessories.

This season’s autumnal color palette is applied as two-tone contrast colors, including evergreen, burgundy and camel alongside classic navy and shades of charcoal.

Luxury fabrics are utilized throughout the collection, most evidently in the outerwear. Highlights include a stand out forest green moleskin bomber and camel coat, as well as a silk-wool blend overcoat. The knitwear offering has an understated style; fine gauge roll necks and cardigans featuring subtle texture or color contrasts on the neckline and trim.

Reaffirming last season’s theme of deconstruction, the tailoring for this season again features a relaxed style with a confident silhouette, evident on the soft round shoulders and considered design. Fabrics are well chosen, as autumnal lightweight tweeds are complimented by heavier silk-wool blends for winter.

The accessory offering includes three bag styles – a tote, briefcase and hold all – each colored leather design featuring contrast trims. Two-tone leather gloves compliment the outerwear designs, with bright cashmere and silk scarves adding an Escher-inspired highlight.

About Start London

Start was originally founded in 2002 by husband and wife team Brix and Philip Start. Its popularity and success at number fifty-nine Rivington Street, led to a quick expansion and women’s wear took up its own, larger premises across the street at number forty-two by 2004.

Mr Start online fashion boutique was later established in 2008 and is now the home to Philip Start’s own line, specializing in contemporary tailoring.
