Petition prompts Amoena to launch pretty mastectomy bras

Earlier this month, the daughter of a breast cancer survivor petitioned one of the largest American lingerie retailers to carry mastectomy bras. Citing a lack of options comparable to the "pretty bras they wore before their battle with cancer," the daughter urged the company to help survivors feel confident and comfortable by offering bras that look great, fit and is affordable.

While it is uncertain how and when the retailer will respond, the daughter and her mother can find comfort in what thousands of women already know—Amoena has been providing survivors with beautiful and supportive lingerie for more than three decades.

The Everyday Collection features feminine, fashionable options with ideal support. Light, comfortable fabric lines the pockets to hold a breast form or symmetry shaper securely in place. The cups feature elastic edges to provide additional security and ensure a perfect fit. Sizing ranges from 32A up to an H cup in certain styles. Select styles start at $40.

The Amoena Seduction line—available in fall 2013—includes the same essential design and comfort elements of the Everyday Collection with an added romantic touch. Designed in France by a prominent lingerie designer, the seasonal collection incorporates elegant lace with trending fabrics and colors. Enhanced comfort

Certain bra styles also feature Amoena's proprietary Comfort+ technology. The temperature-equalizing material (placed in the center, frames and slings) absorbs excess body heat during a rise in temperature, reducing heat build-up where women tend to perspire most.
