Cheer Sagar director bags AEPC 'Young Entrepreneur' award

Arnav Poddar a young Jaipur-based entrepreneur has bagged the “Highest Exports By Young Entrepreneur” award at the Export Excellence Awards function hosted by the apex apparel trade body in India - Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

24-years old, Arnav Poddar has won the “Highest Exports By Young Entrepreneur” AEPC award for two consecutive years – 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Arnav Poddar is the young Director of Cheer Sagar, an exporter of high fashion clothing. Under his command, exports of Cheer Sagar have risen from Rs 228 million in 2009-10 to Rs 374 million in 2011-12.

Cheer Sagar uses, crochet lace, crochet yoke, hand crochet yokes, sequin laces, embroideries and other embellishments in the garments to add value and develop high fashion wear, which has resulted in higher per unit realization in sales.

It has also installed Japanese make Barudan embroidery machine and Korea make SWF embroidery machinery to develop high fashion in-house embroidery capability in house. It also has installed German-make Veit form finisher machines for quality pressing of high fashion garments.

Cheer Sagar has also been awarded National Award for “Outstanding Efforts in Entrepreneurship” and also for “Quality Products” in 2010.
