Les Petits launches iconic brand Young Versace in India

For little girls, the timeless Baroque print is reinvented in an op art style based on mini gingham patterns in contrasting white and aqua green. The same theme is repeated in combination with a gingham check print from the Versace archive. Trenches, single shoulder dresses and mini shorts harmonise perfectly through the use of colour and graphics.

The Trésors de la Mer print, borrowed from the women’s collection for Spring/Summer 2012, nods playfully at the delicate preferences of little girls, prioritising lightweight fabrics and subtle pastel nuances of lilac, aqua green and yellow. A sensitive approach to embroidery, and perfectly judged pleating, result in sophisticated examples of supreme good taste. Shells and starfish adorn dresses with fluid lines as well as fleeces and trousers for a casual chic look. The same mood defines the beachwear: bikinis and swimsuits, enriched with diamanté and studs, attain something of the beauty of pieces of real jewellery.

Total black is as essential as always, but softened by new and unexpected touches of broderieAnglaise in a combination of geometric patterns and gold detailing. The same ornamental features recur on the tough leather biker jacket, the season’s absolute “must have”.

All-over palm tree prints and gingham check patterns come together in a mix of prints exploring black and white contrasts that emphasise the clarity of the designs. Mini dresses and mini skirts teamed with parkas and windproof blousons add up to an ensemble of outfits that showcase the contrast between lively prints and simple, precise lines.

The MICROCAPSULE Light Gold is a central strand that runs through the whole collection for girls: a range of transversal pieces, lit up by crystals and studs that embellish the Medusa and Greek fret motifs.

Ultra colourful prints for high summer, a tribute to the classic Miami mood of Gianni Versace, have been created to appeal to young boys and girls. The stunning combinations of colours in the “flowerflage” pattern are mixed with palm tree prints that traditionally conjure up the image of holidays: fuchsia pink, peony and orange for her, and acid green, turquoise and sky blue for him.

For boys, the Young Versace Spring/Summer 2013 collection offers clothes with a tailored quality for a formal look that is contemporary in style and punchy in attitude. Suits in black-and-white mini-gingham fabric alternate with others in plain colours with contrast edges and Baroque swirls. The T-shirts with robot prints are given a three-dimensional effect by the use of studded features, and are worn with denim treated with a metallic coating suggesting the reflective surface of robots.

Jungle references emerge from the exclusive “flowerflage” pattern in shades of woodland green, acid green and military green, with flashes of turquoise. Timeless animalier prints are as powerful as ever, combined withblack to reconnect with the rock ’n’ roll soul of the Maison. These are highlighted by graphics that reproduce images of the iconic metalwork so typical of Versace.
