Haggar Clothing Co. continues its long history of innovation in the apparel industry by being one of the first menswear brands to bring sustainable eco options to the mainstream clothing market.

The iconic brand is helping Canadian consumers move forward into a more eco-sensitive, yet fashionable future with its LK Life Khaki collection made with recycled plastic bottles that would have otherwise gone into a landfill.

Featuring super modern design and fabrication, Haggar's LK Life Khaki pants are made from a blend of cotton and REPREVE fibers. An amazing nod to innovation and forward-thinking, REPREVE is an essential fabric ingredient that contains recycled materials, including plastic bottles.

Each pair of LK Life Khaki pants contains the equivalent of seven recycled plastic bottles. In fact, thanks to LK Life Khaki, more than 14 million plastic bottles have already been rescued within their first year of production.

"Haggar prides itself on being one of the first brands to successfully appeal to today's modern man by developing new products that fit his lifestyle and modern mindset," says Brian Main, President of Haggar Canada. "The LK Life Khaki line is a fresh take on classic style and allows you to do something good for the environment, just by looking good!"

Extraordinary Fashions for the Everyday Man

Haggar is a brand with great history and a legacy of leadership and innovation. The LK Life Khaki line not only demonstrates its commitment to the environment, but also its consistent ability to produce extraordinary clothing for the everyday man.

Athlete, performance nutrition consultant, and bestselling author, Brendan Brazier, is a prime example of the man LK Life Khaki appeals to. Recognized as one of the world's foremost authorities on plant-based nutrition, Brendan has dedicated his life to spreading the word about an ethical, environmentally-friendly, and healthy lifestyle.

"I am a strong supporter of brands that protect our natural resources and that help me live my life the way I want to - green and eco-conscious," says Brendan. "I've always been an advocate of eating green, but for the first time, thanks to Haggar, I can wear green too!"

Designed to change the way men buy khakis, the LK Life Khaki collection features an array of colours and fits, including slim and regular, that are designed for any occasion.

Turning Plastic into Pants

This is how PET water bottles are converted into high-quality, eco-friendly, REPREVE recycled fibers that are made into fabric for LK Life Khaki:

Plastic bottles are dropped into recycling bins

Pre-consumer polyester fiber waste and post-consumer plastics are collected

The collected waste then enters a unique material conversion process, where it is copped, ground, melted and reformulated into REPREVE, a recycled chip

The chips are melted so they can be extruded through tiny openings in a spinneret, creating continuous filaments that together, make REPREVE recycled fibers

The LK Life Khaki collection is available in more than 2,200 locations, including leading department stores in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, as well as online. Although LK Life Khaki line is currently available only in menswear, Haggar plans to launch women's wear later this year.
