The 10 Nike athletes in the field will compete in new designs that incorporate key technologies such as laser perforations, no-sew technology and ultra-lightweight fabrications.

For more than 10 years, the Nike Golf Apparel team has collaborated with athletes to select apparel designs that will help them perform and look their best for each round at major championships.

“We share our newest innovations for the season with our athletes and focus on the technologies that are most applicable to the climate in which they will be competing,” said Merritt Richardson, Vice President of Global Golf Apparel and Footwear for Nike Golf.

“We listen to their performance, comfort and style needs to ensure they are dressed to compete with the best apparel and footwear for the grand stage of a major championship.”

The 10 Nike athletes competing at the 2013 U.S. Open are Paul Casey, Kevin Chappell, Russell Henley, Rory McIlroy, Francesco Molinari, Thorbjorn Olesen, Carl Pettersson, Charl Schwartzel, Nick Watney and Tiger Woods.

Here’s what McIlroy, Olesen, Chappell, Schwartzel and Woods will be wearing:

Rory McIlroy

McIlroy will sport looks from the Nike Tour Performance collection, featuring the latest innovations in lightweight, breathable performance fabrications.

On Thursday, he will wear the Fashion Body Map Graphic Polo in Ice Blue, which has roller perforated insets on the side for ventilation. Friday, he will wear the Lightweight Tech Polo in Electro Orange and Saturday he will wear the Fashion Jacquard Polo in Violet Force.

For his final round, McIlroy will wear the Fashion Graphic Polo in Poison Green, which has a full body map on the back panel for ventilation. McIlroy will rely on Nike Dri-FIT and body mapping technology for maximum breathability in warm conditions. Nike Lunar Control footwear completes his look.

Kevin Chappell and Thorbjorn Olesen

The Sport Collection, which represents a youthful and edgy design with a slimmer fit, will be seen on Chappell and Olesen. Chappell will wear the Sport Nike Swing Polo in Sail and the Sport Vintage Stripe Polo, on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

He will finish his head to-toe look with the Nike Flat Bill hat and the Nike Lunar Swingtip golf shoe. Olesen will also don the Sport Gingham Novelty Polo in Sail on Thursday and the Sport Nike Swing Polo in Atomic Teal on Sunday. He will complement his looks with the Nike Flat Bill hat and Nike Lunar Control footwear.
