The OutDoor 2013 was not just an opportunity to look to the future, but also to look back at the past. "Over the last twenty years, the development of the outdoor industry and ‘its’ trade show have gone straight up, hand in hand. That’s reason enough to celebrate this year, with special features like the outdoor special exhibition and the various panel discussions we’ve had”, said Stefan Reisinger.
EOG President David Udberg also treasures the global outdoor meeting at Lake Constance: "The OutDoor reminds us that what the outdoor industry has is really special. We are a strong community that has learnt to share, co-operate and develop together whilst still being competitors. Friedrichshafen provides the perfect setting for this and our annual gathering on the shores of Lake Constance is always something the industry looks forward to."
After a multi-year absence, outdoor water sports returned to the show for the first time in 2013. "The visitors were very taken with it and think it’s great that water sports are back at the OutDoor again. People really took advantage of the opportunities to test things out at the lake on the fairgrounds.
“Our goal is to give paddling more visibility. We were pleased by the interest shown by media and visitors and we are already thinking about our appearance at the OutDoor next year”, explained Jörg Rostock, organiser of the shared canoeing stand.
In addition to exhibitors and journalists, industry representatives also gave this year’s edition of the show good marks, as a survey of trade visitors makes clear: 88 percent of them stated that their visit to the OutDoor 2013 had paid off.
The economic situation in the outdoor industry was ranked by 44 percent as strengthening and by 34 percent as stable. 90 percent of the guests at the show have already decided to attend the 21st OutDoor. It will take place from 10 to 13 July 2014.
