Jack Wolfskin gains a foothold in South America with partner Heightsport to further accelerate its international growth. The contracts make way for a sales partnership in Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

Department store concessions and mono brand stores are being planned alongside sales in Heightsport chain stores. The first South American Jack Wolfskin Store opened its doors on 13 July in Pucón, Chile.

The new Jack Wolfskin Store is situated on Lake Villarrica in Pucón, Chile, and is the point of entry for Jack Wolfskin’s brand presence in South America. The small town of Pucón, with just under 20,000 inhabitants, is one of the most popular destinations in South America for outdoor enthusiasts, attracting around 1.2 million visitors per year. The winter sports resort on nearby Villarrica Volcano makes for excellent outdoor sports opportunities in winter, too.

“Latin America attracts countless outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world every year with its breathtaking and varied scenery, providing us with the perfect opportunity to tap into an international audience. In particular, the growing tourism industry in Chile provides the ideal starting point to bring our innovative products to the South American market,” explained Michael Rupp, CEO of Jack Wolfskin GmbH & Co. KGaA.

Alongside the launch of our first franchise store in South America, Jack Wolfskin’s sales partner, Heightsport, will also sell our products in its chain of shops, including 17 stores in Ecuador. In addition, several department store concessions are planned, as well as further mono brand stores. The next South American Jack Wolfskin store is expected to be opened in Santiago de Chile in October.

“I am especially pleased to see the new developments in South America, not only because they prove that the great outdoors is an on-trend topic internationally, but also because it means that the Jack Wolfskin brand is winning great trust in vastly different cultures to our own,” continued Rupp on the topic of Jack Wolfskin’s international progress.
