The National Retail Federation appreciates the dialogue that has begun related to the trade show schedule for the Javits Center beginning in January 2015.
The Governor’s recent unilateral and precedent setting decision to grant the New York Boat Show dates in mid-January certainly impacts the NRF annual ‘Big Show,’ which generates over $20 million to the New York economy.
The annual event – held in mid-January at the Javits Center for more than a decade – brings over 27,000 people to New York City, and it continues to grow. It expects to break a new attendance record in January 2014 and will continue to work with state officials and Javits Center board members to ensure sustained growth and economic opportunity despite the Governor’s mandate.”
As the world’s largest retail trade association and the voice of retail worldwide, NRF represents retailers of all types and sizes, including chain restaurants and industry partners, from the United States and more than 45 countries abroad. Retailers operate more than 3.6 million U.S. establishments that support one in four U.S. jobs – 42 million working Americans.
