‘Go green’ seems to be the buzz word everywhere—first it was mainstream fashion and now funeral clothing which has recently undergone an eco-friendly makeover, thanks to the Melbourne-based designer Pia Interlandi.

Titled as ‘Garments for the Grave’, the collection features a number of simple burial garments made from decomposable fabrics like linen, cotton and hemp.

Devoid of any kind of buttons, zippers and tailoring, the outfits are open, loose-fitting and can be easily placed on the body of the deceased.

The fine fragile layers of veil-like apparels are scientifically designed to decay before the body, so as to allow it to turn into dust.
