The campaign encourages G&K Services’ customers to trade-in their everyday work wear for pink ribbon apparel during the month of October. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer accounts for nearly 1 in 3 cancer cases diagnosed in women.
The program began five years ago when GKdirect worked with oil and gas companies across the country for Fueling Awareness, a nationwide campaign in support of breast cancer awareness. Since the start of the program, the company, with the support of the G&K Services Foundation, has donated over $44,000 in the name of its customers.
"G&K Services is honored to once again support Breast Cancer Awareness month,” said Jeffrey L. Wright, G&K’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “We are grateful to our customers who have joined us in helping to find a cure for breast cancer.”
This year GKdirect is offering twelve Awareness Apparel items from its GKdirect catalog, including polos, button down shirts, tees and caps. All of these items can be embroidered with the breast cancer awareness ribbon on the shirt sleeve or hat back. A portion of the purchase price is then donated to the American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.
