Venezuelan female innerwear company Lucy Lingerie in partnership with the SenosAyuda, a non-profit civil association for fighting against cancer, in the country, has launched its new model of post-mastectomy bra, in order to assist in the recovery of women who have had breast cancer, and make them feel comfortable in their own skin.

The bra has been launched as part of fight against breast cancer well in time for the international breast cancer awareness month of October. The special bra is for women who have undergone surgical procedures or mastectomy, and the design of the bra, which is approved by the SenasAyuda, is created to support the external prosthesis and mold their appearance to resemble a natural breast.

Claudia Maldonado, manager of Lucy Lingerie Design, said with the launch of the bra the company reaffirms its commitment to Venezuelan women, providing special support to those who have experienced sudden changes in their body, health issues, and motivate them to revive and rediscover their identities

The design of the new bra includes smooth glass preform made of cotton lycra with delicate lace, and was created especially to help sustain the external prosthesis and prevent its movement and deformation.

The seams of the bra are coated to avoid any uncomfortable friction that can cause any irritation on the affected areas.

The post-mastectomy bra has internal pockets for the location of breast prosthesis on both sides and also two side openings for so that the user can place the prosthesis horizontally or vertically depending on their needs. The straps of the new bra are wider and padded for comfort during the recovery period, and the badge has four positions to give more coverage to the width of the back.

The bra also includes a pink ribbon which signifies breast cancer and can be purchased at all Lucy Lingerie retail stores in the country.
