The second edition of the Latin American Strategy Forum Fashion and Business, to be held on October 30, 2013, in Colombian city of Bogota, would be a preamble for the 30th World Fashion Convention of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), scheduled to be held in 2014, in Colombia, announced Luz Adriana Naranjo, director of Business Competitiveness of the Institute for Exports and Fashion (INEXMODA).

According to a statement issued by INEXMODA, Ms. Naranjo said the forum seeks to provide attendees latest information regarding the industry trends in the fashion sector and the opportunities available in the domestic market.

The figures released by Inexmoda Fashion Observatory—Raddar show that in June 2013, about 153 international fashion brands mainly from the US, Panama and Chile forayed into the Colombian market, which indicates the growing importance of fashion consumption in the country, she added.

The INEXMODA official said such figures indicate the growth of fashion in Colombia and reveal the importance for domestic firms to rethink their business model and target their strategies to become more competitive in order to face international competition.

Ms. Naranjo said the second edition of the forum would 100 percent focus on content regarding the reality of the fashion sector in the country and would be providing with practical conclusions that shall allow the entrepreneurs of the fashion sector to take necessary actions relevant to their respective firms.

The Latin American Strategy Forum Business and Fashion would be a space dedicated to networking, which will allow attendees to connect with other entrepreneurs of the fashion sector in order to create possible partnerships that would develop the sector further, she added.
