The awards were presented at a star-studded, exclusive gala event at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
At the core of the Gap Kids & Baby design aesthetic is the desire to create cool, casual, American collections for children aged 0-13. This is achieved through quality fabrications, tried and true classic fi ts and innovative and thoughtful attention to detail.
Denim is a seasonal essential for the Gap Adult customer and Gap has worked hard to create musthave denim fi ts for the Gap Kids customer too, making each piece as kid friendly as possible with ample stretch and comfort.
At Gap Kids, inspiration isn’t about competitive shopping or diluting catwalk trends. The design process comes from unique and unexpected origins such as a great art show, cool modern architecture, aspirational street style, the virtual world of Pinterest, being on the pulse of the East and West Coasts and all their offerings. It isn’t unusual for an entire colour palette to develop from a vintage print or a new book of photography the design team found moving.
Corporate social responsibility is also at the heart of Gap’s business with initiatives, such as PACE (Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement) a program created to better the lives of female garment workers by providing life skills, and its Water Quality Program which requires vendors to properly treat waste water from denim laundries prior to discharge, while Baby Organics, Gap’s organic cotton collection, is made from 100% organic cotton, grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers for age range 0-12 months.
