Lingerie Awards 2013 gives shoppers to choose favourites

There is less than a week left for the nation to vote their favourite underwear designers and stores under the UK Lingerie Awards public vote.

The UK Lingerie Awards 2013, organised by business magazine Lingerie Insight, included three categories this year that are voted for by the general public: UK's Favourite Lingerie Brand of the Year, UK's Favourite Lingerie Retailer of the Year and UK's Favourite British Designer of the Year.

Over 1,600 votes have been casted so far proving shoppers are not shy in showing support to their favourite brands and retailers. Voting is open now and will run until November 19.

Lingerie Insight Editor Sarah Blackman said: "These three awards are so special because they are voted for by the very people who keep the UK lingerie industry in business - the shoppers.

"While the rest of the awards are carefully judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts, this exciting section offers us a real insight into the minds of end consumers and can tell us just what turns UK shoppers on when it comes to buying lingerie."

Every company that has entered the UK Lingerie Awards this year has been put forward for the three public vote awards, so shoppers voting can do so from a predetermined shortlist. They will also be encouraged to tell the Awards team just what makes their chosen designer or shop so special. The voting process is simple and the form takes just a minute or two to complete.

The winners of these three awards will be announced at the UK Lingerie Awards 2013 ceremony, which will be held on December 4 at the Freemason's Hall in London - a spectacular city centre venue that has been home to the secretive Masons' society since it was built in the 1930s.

This year also marks the first time that the UK Lingerie Awards ceremony has been open to the general public. It was previously an event strictly for the UK lingerie business and the celebrities and models associated with it, but now tickets are available for all to buy through uklingerieawards.com.

Tickets cost just £75 and include an evening of entertainment, food and drinks, as well as the chance to rub shoulders with some of the brightest stars of the lingerie world.

Joining principal partner Fashion Forms at the UK Lingerie Awards 2013 is a host of category sponsors that include Salon International, Mode City, Panache, Xelence Charnos Hosiery, Vercella Vita and Triumph. Leg Avenue will also be at the event and will provide a photobooth to give guests a memento of the evening to take away with them.
