The Woolmark Company is proud to present the autumn/winter 2014/15 edition of The Wool Lab at the November edition of Japan Creation in Tokyo, along with the latest fabric collections from the Cool Wool Guild members in Japan.

The Wool Lab, a seasonal guide to the most inspiring wool trends and best products, is created to inspire and inform fashion professionals regarding the infinite potential of Merino wool.

A trend book and a sourcing guide, the tool is the result of extensive research undertaken by The Woolmark Company through its global network to select the best wool products worldwide and identify the emerging trends from fashion, design, art, pop culture, music and other fields.

The Wool Lab is created each season in collaboration with the world’s most innovative and quality-oriented spinners and weavers. It is a collection of the most beautiful wool products, commercially available, and in line with the leading fashion and textile trends.

The tool is available free of charge and upon request for designers, manufacturers, retailers, fashion and apparel brands and to all the professionals of the fashion industry, to provide a concrete sourcing service, putting them in contact with the world’s best wool suppliers. It’s visible at Japan Creation Tokyo at The Woolmark Company’s booth at J-L1, and presents seven inspiring themes for the upcoming autumn/winter season.

The Woolmark Company will also be promoting its Cool Wool campaign as it works with Japan’s premium wool weavers specialising in lightweight Merino suiting fabrics. The latest fabric collections from members of the Cool Wool Guild in Japan will also be exhibited.

About Cool Wool:

The Woolmark Company is working with Japan’s premium wool weavers specialising in lightweight Merino suiting fabrics to reintroduce their successful Cool Wool campaign.

Cool Wool garments are manufactured from lightweight Merino wool fabrics with a maximum weight of 190 g/m² and a maximum mean wool fibre diameter of 22.5 micron. The fabric/garment surface is clean and smooth.

Cool Wool Fabrics and garments carrying the Woolmark are normally 100 per cent Pure New Wool but can include blends of wool with fine animal fibres. For fabrics and garments where wool is blended with other natural fibres (cellulosic or silk), the Cool Wool label is used in conjunction with the Woolmark Blend logo. The inclusion of elastane-type filaments to impart stretch characteristics to the fabric is permitted.
