True Religion Apparel, Inc. announced that John Anderson and Marka Hansen have been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Anderson served as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Levi Strauss & Co. (“Levi Strauss”), with a 32-year career at the company, and Ms. Hansen is the former President of Gap North America (“Gap”). Both Mr. Anderson and Ms. Hansen are accomplished industry veterans, whose counsel will accelerate True Religion’s growth and transformation.

Mr. Anderson has made significant achievements in the apparel industry, serving as the President and CEO of Levi Strauss from 2006 to 2011. Throughout his 32 years at Levi Strauss, Mr. Anderson developed a reputation as a leader who is passionate about product craftsmanship, consumer value and innovation with a focus on building world-class teams.
Under his leadership, Levi Strauss achieved a strong period of growth, completed a successful brand transformation, honed its focus on consumer engagement and made investments in key growth platforms. Prior to joining Levi Strauss, Anderson held marketing positions at Johnson & Johnson and sales positions at the H.J. Heinz Company.

Ms. Hansen is a leader in the retail industry with deep merchandising expertise and a 24-year history at Gap Inc. Serving as President of Gap North America from 2007 to 2011, she oversaw all aspects of the Gap brands as well as the launch of Gap’s 1969 premium denim brand and its new store design.
Prior to this role, Ms. Hansen served as President of Banana Republic from 2003 to 2007. Throughout her career, Ms. Hansen has held various merchandising positions at Banana Republic and Gap, playing an important role in the company’s international expansion in Europe and Japan.
