Coop & spree signs first retail store lease in New York

Coop & spree, a new retail concept for the young, stylish, metropolitan woman, announced that it has signed a lease for its first retail store at 202 Elizabeth Street in New York City. As part of the announcement, the store will launch an exciting new shopping experience that includes the most coveted apparel and accessory designers from around the world, infused with cutting edge technologies and premium services that today’s sophisticated shopper has come to expect.

Scheduled to open in August 2014, coop & spree will occupy approximately 1,000 square feet in the heart of Nolita, with neighboring tenants including Vince, Helmut Lang, Maje, and Sandro. Gary Schwartzman & George Graf from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented coop & spree in the transaction.

“Our customer wants an interactive and entertaining retail experience that also offers access to exclusive designer brands and luxury services,” said coop & spree founder Brooke S. Richman. “We are ecstatic to open our first store in Nolita, as the area epitomizes our commitment to discovering unknown designers with a downtown chic edge.”

Coop & spree’s new retail concept, which has received more than $1 million in private funding, invites customers to discover, play, shop and share through the following:

-Luxury services. coop & spree caters to customers’ every shopping need, whether it’s providing complimentary tailoring, same day NYC delivery, or umbrellas for a rainy day.

-Personal styling. coop & spree helps pamper customers by offering a menu of personal styling services that they can’t find online, including home closet consultations, personalized packing services and a stylist in residence.

-Digital styling. coop & spree features digital tablets throughout the store to help customers build and accessorize outfits, while its photo booth helps them enjoy a fun shopping experience and share style inspiration with friends.

-Exclusive access. coop & spree hosts events and trunk shows to expose customers to new designers from around the world including LA, Australia, London and New York.
