According to the AICP data, the country exported 935,787 units of apparel products worth $5.6 million during the month of January, whereas during the same month last year 421,972 units of garments amounting to $3.1 million were exported.
The highest exports were made from the ready-to-wear garment products with exports amounting to $3.6 million, followed by the bath and home apparels with exports totaling $2 million during the month of January this year.
As per the AICP data, majority of the exports were destined to Brazil with apparel exports amounting to $3.5 million, accounting for 63.2 percent of the overall garment exports from the country during the month of January, 2014.
Argentina ranked second with exports worth $1.6 million during the first month of the year, followed by Uruguay with $249,223, Panama with $125,043, the US with $42,308, and Colombia with $30,151.
