Global Desi debuts fun prints in fluid fabrics this summer

May '14
The Global Desi Spring Summer 2014 collection is inspired by the exuberance and fun vibe of the great Indian ‘Mela’ and the glamorous drape of LIVA fabric. For the uninitiated, LIVA is a new age fabric made with natural fibers from the house of Aditya Birla Group.

Made from fluid fabrics derived from natural fibres, LIVA renders a beautiful flow to the garments, providing a soft, comfortable drape that enables ease of movement – so much so that when you move, it moves with you.

Since it is sourced from natural fibers, LIVA also attributes “breathability” to the apparel, making it ideal for the summer season.

Enhanced by the fluidity and drape of the fabric, the collection plays very strongly on an array of distinctive colours like mustard, tangerine, deep blue, lime green and red. It comprises the LIVA   ‘Eliza’ Maxi dress, the LIVA ‘Ariana’ Jumpsuit and the LIVA Milena Dress, along with fluid palazzos and loose white shirts. Moreover, with tops, pants and skirts that are bright, fluid and full of ease, Global Desi along with LIVA presents a collection that is perfect for the season.

Anita Dongre, Creative Director, Global Desi says, “This is our third season of association with LIVA - a new age fabric from the house of Aditya Birla Group. It is a fluid fabric made with natural fibres. It imparts an amazing softness and flow to the garment and makes possible cuts and fits that enhance and compliment your body. Our summer collection is infused with the stimulating elements of a ‘Mela’ along with the fluidity of LIVA that has created an inimitable range of a la mode fashion forward styles. The collection is rich in colour, silhouettes, exciting prints and motifs, like kites, turbans, pinwheels.”

According to Mr. Manohar Samuel, President (Marketing& Business Development), Aditya Birla Group says, “Global Desi and LIVA comes together in a harmonious manner with flowy silhouettes, exciting prints and motifs and chic styles that are portrayed through a fine fabric. It truly represents the free spirit of a fun filled carnival.”
