Chinese firm, BGMEA sign MoU for garment village

China-based Orion International Holding Company and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for constructing a garment village in Bangladesh.
The MoU was signed by BGMEA president Atiqul Islam and Orion’s CEO Tang Xiaoji, in presence of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Beijing.
As per the MoU, Orion will construct a garment village at Gazaria in Munshiganj district.
The MoU was one of the two important agreements signed during the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to China.
