Fresh Produce, a leading apparel brand for women, has named Dorothy Sadd chief operating officer. As the newest member of Fresh Produce’s growing senior management team, Sadd will work alongside senior staff to help the brand achieve its growth aspirations and culture.

As chief operating officer, Sadd will lead operations. Her knowledge of garment construction and production in everything from sourcing the best materials and the nuances of garment dye will help maximize the level of quality and comfort that Fresh Produce customers have come to expect. Sadd’s experience with inventory management systems, as well as forecasting tools and techniques, will enable the brand to sustain its current growth trajectory and expand the brand’s footprint across all channels.

“Appointing Dorothy as our new COO was an easy decision for all of us,” says Mary Ellen Vernon, Founder and Chief Brand Officer. “Not only does she possess the right background and knowledge needed to help our business reach its full potential, she also has a deep understanding of what Fresh Produce is all about as an established leader in the apparel business and a Fresh Produce enthusiast.”

Sadd has spent the last 25 years working in the apparel industry with numerous national and international brands including: Guess, Levi Strauss & Co., Gap Inc., Adidas, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, The North Face, Vans, Gymboree and Talbots. She also spent over a decade at Kurt Salmon, a premier management consulting firm that specializes in apparel, retail and consumer products. Sadd worked in-house for both Pottery Barn and VF Corporation in senior operational roles focusing on supply chain, product development and a number of other production and operational initiatives.

“I’m thrilled to join a company and brand that I know and appreciate for its carefree, effortless lifestyle,” says Sadd. “Everyone on the senior management team Fresh Produce has assembled comes with an impressive background and skill set, but also a set of very important common values that will help us achieve great things together. I see great potential.”

Earlier this year Fresh Produce announced the acquisition of three additional executive management team members: Cindy Drankoski as senior vice president of talent, Brenda Rutenber as vice president and head of stores, and John Harris as chief marketing officer and head of Fresh Produce’s online sales channel.
