More than 300 domestic and foreign companies partook in the just held 79th edition of Spain’s international trade fair FIMI, an event that solely specializes in children’s communion and occasion wear.

Held in the capital city of Madrid, the event saw latest spring-summer 2015 collections from 31 Catalan, 27 Madrid, 20 Andalusia and 40 Valencia based labels.

In addition to the local brands, international firms belonging to some 16 countries including Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, USA, France, Greece, Holland, India, Italy, Portugal, UK, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland also showcased their designs at the event.

Names like Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Barcarola, Bimbalina, Bóboli, Bonnet á Pompon, Condor, Foque, José Varón, Larrana, Lea Lelo & Sussana Mazzarino, Lion of Porches, Mayoral, N+V Villalobos + Nieves Álvarez, Oca Loca, Oh! Soleil, Pan con Chocolate, Piccola Stella, Sanmar, Tartaleta and Tuc Tuc o Tutto Piccolo displayed their new kids’ everydaywear lines at the soiree.

Barcarolle, Carmy, Larrana, Les Enfants de L'eden by Hortensia Maeso, Magnífica Lulú, Miquel Suay y Paqui Barroso also presented their communion and ceremonial wear ranges for girls and boys at the event.
Out of the total 300 participants, over 38 domestic and foreign brands such as DC Kids Dolores Cortés, Oh! Soleil JV José Varón baño y N+V Villalobos + Nieves Álvarez, alongside some 9 design students staged a children’s swimwear centric catwalk at the three-day event.

The most recurring and standout trends unveiled at the event were the casual retro-inspired preppy styles (comprised of lightweight flared gauze skirts, blazers, Bermuda shorts, shirts and polo shirts), Safari looks (made from lime, orange beige, khaki and salmon hued linen cotton and knitted fabrics) and monochrome and absurd pop print adorned outfits.
