Tommy John, the maker of solution-focused underwear, undershirts and socks for men, announced it has grown its executive team with the new hire of John Wu as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company.

In this role as COO, Wu will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Tommy John. Wu will manage Tommy John’s supply chain, including inventory planning and e-commerce fulfillment. Wu will also oversee human resources, customer service, and financial operations.

Most recently, Wu was the Executive Vice President, Operations at Fab.com. In that position, his team was responsible for the strategic development of a world-class service operation, reducing their click-to-ship time to less than one day from 27 days, and daily management of supply chain, e-commerce fulfillment, call center operations, engineering, analytics, inventory control, retail store operations, B2C real estate, IT infrastructure, security, transportation, warehouse operations, labor, quality assurance, manufacturing and network planning.

Prior to working at Fab, Wu was a Co-Founder and COO of PartSimple, a company that bridged the gap between consumers and electronic parts manufacturers and distributors. Wu also established an operations and merchandising team that enabled the company to integrate more than 80 drop-ship vendors and improve site conversion threefold at Partsearch.

Wu has been recognized for his outside-the-box thinking and contributions to the industry. His fulfillment and customer service teams at Fab.com were consistently in the top 5 Stella Service Elite rankings each month. Wu has also been named one of the Top 20 Logistics Executives in the country by CLO Magazine.

“We are eager for John to play a key leadership role at Tommy John and contribute to our continued success and growth. With more than 20 years of experience, John brings a diverse set of operational expertise and a successful track record that we will leverage across the company,” said Tom Patterson, founder and CEO of Tommy John.

“I’m thrilled to be able to use my experience in the industry to take Tommy John to the next level,” said John Wu. “Tommy John is a great company revolutionizing the world of men’s underwear by producing an excellent product that is improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of men. As the brand continues to delight customers, I’m looking forward to helping them grow their e-commerce business and surprising customers with innovative services.”
