Myntra appoints Masaba Gupta as Anouk's Creative Director

The Indian online shopping destination Myntra has appointed fashion designer Masaba Gupta as the Creative Director for its ethnic wear brand Anouk.

The young fashion talent will add her personal twist to the label by creating signature Indianwear which will be exclusively available for purchase on Myntra.com from sometime in October, 2014 onwards.

While speaking on the partnership, the Myntra.com CEO and Head of Fashion Flipkart.com, Mr. Mukesh Bansal, says “We’re very proud to welcome Masaba to the Myntra.com family and look forward to a long and fabulous association. She beautifully embodies values of individuality, confidence, urbanism and tradition, all of which represent the brand Anouk.”

“Masaba’s journey in the Indian fashion industry has been remarkable and she has showcased her intrinsic design talent with some fabulous prints that have received love and appreciation from fashion experts and consumers across borders,” he further elaborates on the designer’s successful career path.

Masaba also spoke about her new career responsibility in a statement, “I was absolutely thrilled and honoured when I was asked to creatively head Anouk for Myntra.com. Anouk personifies the young Indian woman who I like to speak to through my designs. She has a passion for life, flair for fashion and loves unique bold design concepts. I can’t wait to translate all these beautiful elements into my designs for Anouk and create a versatile style experience for Myntra’s consumers.”

Known for its Indian womenswear designs, the Anouk brand is diversified into different looks named under Anouk core, Anouk Rustic and Anouk Mirage to suit different occasions. The label’s product offering allows the mood to morph from the seriousness of the boardroom to being fun and carefree.

Myntra offers products from some 700 leading fashion and lifestyle brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Lee, Levis, Wrangler, Arrow, Mango, Diesel, CAT, Timberland, US Polo, FabIndia, Biba as well as celebrity labels like HRX from Hritik Roshan and Being Human by Salman Khan. The e-commerce site also offers designerwear from Manish Arora, Rajesh Prathap and Wills Signature range. (PB)
