Snapdeal chooses India Post as delivering partner

Snapdeal.com, an Indian online marketplace, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India Post, choosing India Post as its delivering partner, on the occasion of National Postal Week, which was held from 9th of October to 15th of October, 2014.

Mr. Vijay Ajmera, the senior vice president (Finance), Snapdeal.com, said they are happy to choose India Post as their delivering partner and this partnership will provide their e-commerce business a wider reach and network.

With 1.50 lakh post offices all across India, India Post can deliver products and parcels in any part of the country, he added.

In tune with the emerging e-commerce market, India Post is developing exclusive parcel network to cater the needs of e-commerce companies. Parcel product has been revamped & Cash on Delivery (CoD) facility has been introduced. State-of-the-art parcel centres are also being set up across the country, according to a statement.

India Post is well aware about the changing needs of the customers and has introduced products like speed post, express/business parcel, business post, e-post, money remittance services, etc. Utilizing its vast network, India Post offers bill collection under e-payment and retails third party products from its post offices.

India Post is in the process of inducting new-age technology through an enterprise wide IT project, at an approximate cost of Rs. 4909 crores, which will bring in electronic connectivity and capability across 1.5 lakhs post offices for seamless delivery of all mail and financial services.
