900 fabric specialists to show at 38th Munich Fabric Start

More than 900 fabric specialists from 35 different nations will showcase over 1500 new innovations in apparels and accessories at the upcoming 38th edition of German trade fair Munich Fabric Start, due to take place from February 2 to 4, 2015.

The event, which will be attended by 20,000 international trade visitors including buyers, designers and product managers representing famous brands, will showcase latest Spring/Summer 2016 looks in womenswear, menswear, denim and sportswear from the participating manufacturers, weavers, printers and textile service providers.

Divided into different segments, the fair’s denimwear-dedicated area will see corduroys, mill-washed fabrics, accessories and resource-friendly finishes from 80 international denim weavers, finishers and washers such as Candiani SpA, Isko, Orta Anadolu, Tejidos Royo, Calik and Lanifi cio Europa SNC. Also a denim art exhibition, featuring 100 per cent hand-crafted French-produced jeans, will be hosted by Nadel and Pen at the venue. The Parisian trend and design studio Monsieur-T will share its specialised knowledge of denim trends through a think tank session.

The fabrics section will highlight fresh fabric developments, ranging from basics to haute couture collections, by some 600 suppliers. Exhibitors include TCS, Scabal S.A, Reactive Text, S.L, The Agency b.v, Botto Giuseppe e Figli, Tunel Tekstil, Burel Factory and Eusebio SpA will present woven and knit fabrics made from wool, cotton, silk, satin and functional materials at the event.

In the Asia Salon segment, some 100 market-leading partners from China and Korea such as Daechun Co., Ltd, Eminent Garment Limited, Everget Enterprise Limited, Eysan Fabrics Co, Ltd., KSH Corporation and Super Wings International Limited will present their latest developments.

The trade fair’s creative platform, Design Studio, will offer answers for people seeking individual design solutions. Creative agencies from around the world will feature their progressive print, pattern and design ideas.

The Eco Village will present new innovations revolving around sustainable textile production and sourcing by well-known NGOs, certification bodies and ethical fashion experts like GOTS, IVN, IMO, OEKO-TEX, Fair Wear Foundation, Ceres, Fairtrade, WRAP and Cotton Made (Africa).

In addition to the aforementioned programs and exhibitions, Information-packed seminars, trend lectures and eco talks will also be held on the sidelines of the event. (PB)
