Mar '15
International Apparel Federation (IAF) will organise the 31st edition of World Fashion Convention from October 14 to 15, 2015 alongside the 8th Istanbul Fashion Conference, held simultaneously with the Istanbul Fashion Week.

The convention will discuss the latest positive developments in apparel chain. Themed ‘Making it better’, the conference will look into the future and highlight the current positive developments that are rejuvenating and strengthening the industry. It will also discuss issues related to investments in local skills, CSR, sustainability, products, supply chain management and marketing.

“IAF is creating bridges between continents. We aim to provide maximum value to our members in international cooperation. That is why we are hosting this year’s convention in Istanbul, close to the bridge that is literally connecting the continents,” said Rahul Mehta, IAF president on the decision to hold the next IAF convention in the Turkish capital.

While discussing the upcoming convention in a meeting with Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Association (IHKIB) president, Hikmet Tanriverdi, and Turkish Clothing Manufacturers’ Association (TGSD) president, Seref Fayat, Mehta said, “IAF, which represents more than 20 million employees in over 50 countries, is happy to use this opportunity to support Turkey’s 30 billion dollars export target in 2023.”

Fayat said, “I hope our Fashion Conference and IAF Convention will inspire textile and apparel industries to work together. I think this global event will send a very strong positive message. We will bring brands and Turkish manufacturers together and take great steps to improve the potential for cooperation.” (PB)
