True Religion appoints John Ermatinger as new CEO

True Religion Apparel, Inc., a premium denim and denim-related sportswear brand, has appointed John Ermatinger as the new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Ermatinger, a seasoned executive who has been serving as True Religion’s Interim SVP of global sourcing and production, is expected to build on the strategic initiatives that have been implemented since the acquisition of TowerBrook, a private equity firm, in July 2013, and will guide the company into its next phase of development, according to a company press release.

John Anderson, chairman of the True Religion Board of Directors said, “John is a seasoned industry veteran who will lead True Religion towards more accelerated growth. His strong management skills, deep experience at leading apparel companies and appreciation for high quality product is the right combination to drive True Religion’s transformation forward.”

Ermatinger has served as the CEO of Tommy Hilfiger (Asia Pacific), president of Gap Inc. (Asia Pacific), president of the Americas for Levi Strauss & Co., as well as the general manager of Nike (Asia Pacific).

John Ermatinger said, “I am impressed with all that True Religion has achieved since TowerBrook’s acquisition and I look forward to working with the company’s talented leadership and associates to further this success. True Religion has re-designed its product line and brand platform, launched compelling collaborations with style leaders, and enhanced the customer experience with a remodel of its retail stores, implementation of omni-channel functionality and a new e-commerce platform. I am eager to build on the Company’s strong foundation, position the iconic brand for the future and further advance True Religion’s transformation.”

True Religion Apparel, Inc. designs, manufactures, and distributes True Religion products, including its True Religion jeans, sportswear, and licensed accessories. (GK)
