US apparel retailer Ross Stores said it has opened 19 Ross Dress for Less and 8 DD's Discounts stores across 15 different US states in July.

“These new locations are part of our 2015 expansion plans to add a total of around 90 stores during the year, including 70 Ross and 20 DD's Discounts stores,” the retailer informed in a press release.

President Jim Fassio said, “These recent openings reflect our ongoing strategy of targeting growth in both established regions and newer markets that we began to enter in 2011.”

“The 27 locations we added this month include eight new stores in our newer Midwest markets of Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and Kansas,” he added.

“Looking ahead, we remain confident that Ross Dress for Less can grow to 2,000 locations and DD's Discounts stores can become a chain of 500 stores," Fassio noted.

Ross Stores is an S&P 500, Fortune 500 and Nasdaq 100 company headquartered in California, with fiscal 2014 revenues of $11.0 billion.

Currently, the company operates Ross Dress for Less, the largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain in the United States with 1,260 locations in 33 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.

The apparel retailer also currently operates 165 DD's Discounts stores in 15 states that feature a more moderately-priced assortment of first-quality, in-season, apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions. (AR)
