Their machines have a network of distribution in some of the major countries of the world including Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Brazil, Columbia, Malaysia etc.

Dhiraj Vohra, senior vice president of Intimate Apparel Association of India said, “The Indian intimate apparel industry is fast expanding its production capacity to meet growing domestic demands as well as huge export opportunities.”

“This calls for technological up-gradation of Indian factories and so special efforts have been taken in this year's edition of Galleria Intima to bring the best machinery companies from around the world to exhibit and demonstrate their products at the show,” he too added.

He further added, “The event would serve as a platform for local producers to network and collaborate with the machinery manufacturers in order to produce top quality products and present opportunities for knowledge sharing and free flow of ideas and exchange of valuable information.”

Galleria Intima 4.0 will also conduct workshops to educate those related with the industry on how to derive optimum use from these machines to get maximum results.

The venue of the show was shifted from Goa to New Delhi as the national capital provides increased connectivity with its well-developed and efficient system of land and air transport.

Galleria Intima is organised every year by the Intimate Apparel Association of India (IAAI) and the organiser of the show is a non-profit organisation whose chief aim is to bring success to the Indian intimate clothing industry.

The event started out small in the year 2012, concentrating on just providing raw material vendors a venue to meet with prospective buyers.

It expanded gradually over the years, bringing OEMs, international brands, as well as private label manufacturers and packaging firms under its umbrella.

This year's edition of the show will have on everything on display, ranging from fibres to laces as well as machinery and packaging.

A large number of visitors would be in attendance this year including participants from brand owners, manufacturers of intimate wear, designers, export houses, large format retailers, online retailers, buying houses etc.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar, minister of state for textiles - independent charge will kick off the show with the opening address, while joint secretary in the textiles ministry SunainaTomar too will be attending the show.

Intimate Apparel Association of India (IAAI) was founded to look after the interests and the development of the Indian intimate apparel sector.

Established in May 2010, the aim of this body is to promote and develop the Indian intimate wear sector and transform the sector as well as the country into a global production hub.

To make their vision a reality, the august body utilises a mixture of innovation and effective marketing strategies for bringing about a long-term and sustainable growth. (AR)
