China : Old clothes bring riches for Chongqing dealers June 29, 2006 | | Clothing dealers in Chongqing are duping their customers by selling out old clothes with new tags at higher prices.
This practice has also been adopted by shoe dealers, who traffic in old shoes at current prices.
Several enterprises have started following this business in many cities.
Even if this activity abuses right of customers, it is difficult to protect innocent customers as manufacturing date is not mentioned on clothes and shoes.
The concerned Government Departments in Beijing issued notices to dealers to mark manufacturing date on clothes and shoes.
This to an extent, might keep on tab such illegal practices of selling old wine in a new bottle. | | | | Fibre2fashion News Desk - China | |
