Phong Phu Corporation, a major cotton textile and clothing manufacturer based in Ho Chi Minh City, recently broke grounds for setting up its new plant, for the production of apparels to be exported to its clients in US, Canada and EU.
The new plant named Hai Lang garment, to be built in Quang Tri, located in the North Central coast of Vietnam, is anticipated to have a yearly production capacity of 2.5 million cotton khaki trousers.
The facility is said to start its operation by October this year, with an expected recruitment of around 1,000 local people.
In middle 2007, Phong Phu Corporation and the US based International Textile Group (ITG), signed an agreement to build a clothing manufacturing complex to produce cotton fabric and garments worth around 80 million in Da Nang city.
