In a Press Release issued, Shri. A. Sakthivel, President, TEA said he had sent congratulatory messages to the Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi and Hon'ble Minister for Rural Industries Shri. Pongalur N. Palaniwamy (23.2.2008) for unveiling the MSME policy on Friday, 22nd February 2008.

Shri. A. Sakthivel welcomed the Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) Policy and felt that the historic policy would be a major trend setter for the growth of MSM Enterprises in Tamilnadu.

He also mentioned that the inclusion of Ready Made Garments as one of the thrust sectors would help the knitwear sector to promote employment and enhance the competitiveness in the global market.

He added that the simplification of procedures in the Policy would help to reduce the unnecessary timing and manpower and in turn the MSM Enterprises could concentrate more on their production and productivity.

A. Sakthivel hoped the ensuing export policy would be more beneficial to the export sector especially to knitwear sector.
