Hart Schaffner Marx (HSM), the biggest Western-style clothes manufacturer in US with the highest sales, has decided to foray into the Chinese market. For the same purpose, the company has inked a joint venture agreement with Youngor Group an equally well known men's apparel manufacturer in China.
For Youngor Group, having a partnership with a foreign company will be its first experience, and will officially take charge of HSM sales in China.
Youngor Group, set off by opening 10 stores in Ningbo City, Hangzhou City, Anhui province and other places for selling HSM clothes. Now, the company has decided to come up with another 100 stores across the country this year after seeing the successful operation of the previous ones.
Presently, there are only a few American brands in the country as their popularity has had little effect on the domestic market. HSM is nonetheless optimistic about success based on the immense potential in the future. Besides, the company always aimed to explore the Asian countries and China was undoubtedly a good start.
