Japanese apparel & accessory cos dominate retail market

Japanese garment and accessory enterprises are on a look out to strengthen their presence in Chinese retail business and this they intend to achieve by means of exploring domestic market with their signature brands.

Most of the Japanese garment enterprises are focusing more on the marketing side of their business to get a firm foothold in the Chinese market. For instance, the Shanghai Jiuang Department store in the country largely sells Japanese products and in the first four months of this year alone, women apparel sales increased by nearly 80 percent compared to the same period last year.

One of the major factors that go in favor of Japanese products is that these garments and accessories are very fashionable and some of their latest styles come into the Chinese market before they do in Japan.

Moreover, excellent design, workmanship and quality have also gone a long way in ensuring that Japanese garments sell well in China.
