STIHL Inc, creator and owner of the premier lumberjack sports event, the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS, Series and Carhartt Inc, the maker of best-in-class apparel for the active worker, announced a three-year agreement with Carhartt to become the global presenting sponsor of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series.

The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series presented by Carhartt features the world's top lumberjacks and lumberjills competing in the U.S. and European Professional Series as well as the World Championships and the U.S. Collegiate Series.

"Carhartt has been a valued partner of the U.S. STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series for nearly a decade as the official workwear of the series, and we are proud to expand our relationship," said Roger Phelps, promotional communications manager for STIHL Inc.

"This partnership aligns two premium brands, known internationally for quality and excellence, and creates a global marketing platform that reaches tens of millions of fans throughout the world with ESPN and EUROSPORT television coverage."

"We look forward to collaborating with STIHL and with our colleagues in Europe to take advantage of the global stage the sponsorship of STIHL TIMBERSPORTS provides us," said Tim Humes, sponsorship marketing manager at Carhartt.

"The objectives and values of STIHL and the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series fit seamlessly with our philosophy of being a best-in-class apparel provider, so cementing a long-term relationship as presenting sponsor was a natural fit."

"This sponsorship allows us to outfit the best STIHL TIMBERSPORTS athletes in apparel that works as hard as they do," Humes further adds.

In addition to serving as the presenting sponsor of the series, Carhartt is the official workwear sponsor and honors the lumberjack who displays the competition's best chopping performance with the Carhartt Chopping Champion Award.

The sponsorship extends to the U.S.-based STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Collegiate Series presented by Carhartt.

"The Collegiate Series is the future of STIHL TIMBERSPORTS, and we are eager to support the students as they chop and saw their way into the professional ranks," said Humes.

"This offers us the chance to align the dedication of our brand with the passion the college athletes bring to the sport."

The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Collegiate Series is broadcast on ESPNU.
