Tatang town located in Zhuji City of Zhejiang Province, China, produces nearly 13.5 billion pairs of socks each year, which makes it the biggest production base in the entire world.

Although, the Chinese textile industry is not going through best of times recently, total industrial output value of Tatang socks industry reached nearly 19 billion yuan. This showcases a significant rise of 17 percent when compared to last year.

Besides, the sales income and the profits made separately were, 18.3 billion yuan a rise of 17.5 percent and 1.66 billion yuan, boosting by 14 percent respectively.

According to a survey conducted, not even a single socks manufacturing enterprise in Tatang town has stopped its production process even after the upheaval in the textile industry of the country.

Zhejiang Danjiya Group, one of the major socks producing company of the region enjoys a good demand from the markets of USA, their latest product bamboo-fibre socks, has also become a big hit.

Most of the socks making enterprises in Tatang town are small family run business, as a result, the rising production cost does not affected them adversely. Even, the local efficient and flexible industrial organizing system of the region ensured the normal production, during the time of crises.

However, one thing which worries the entrepreneurs is that even though there are tens of thousands of sock enterprises in Tatang town, there is not even a single label that extremely popular in China.
