General Department of Customs released statistics for first half of this year, according to which, export of Vietnamese textile and garment industry to Korea has increased by 48 percent to reach US $54 million compared to last year.
Various products including jacket suit, t-shirt, trousers and shorts, enjoyed tremendous growth in export in both volume and value.
Export of jacket witnessed strongest growth in first half of 2008, by fetching $10.7 million for one million units, enjoying a growth of 66 and 90 percent in volume and value respectively.
Whereas Vietnam exported 851,000 units of trousers worth $5.3 million to Korea, showing increase of 111 percent in quantity and 103 in value.
Country succeeded in fetching $3.5 million of foreign exchange by exports of 1.02 million t-shirts, depicting a growth of 82 percent in quantity and 64 percent in value. Whereas shorts could experience rise of 22 and 48 percent in volume and value respectively, worth $1.9 million for 400,000 units.
