24th IAF World Apparel Convention to kick off on Oct 29

Have you registered for the 24th IAF World Apparel Convention, to be held on October 30th and 31st, 2008, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Maastricht (The Netherlands)? Prominent speakers from renowned international fashion companies will share their vision on a number of topics related to the theme “Changing Consumer Needs and the Future of Fashion Business”.

A number of speakers representing companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne, NIKE, Hugo Boss, VF Corp., George by ASDA, Esquel Group of Companies Hong Kong, Coolcat, Charles Vögele, Kaufhof, and Tecnica/Nordica have agreed to share their ideas at the convention. In addition to this, leading education institutes such as Institut Français de la Mode (Paris), Amsterdam Fashion Institute (Amsterdam) and University of the Arts (London) will be contributing their initiatives.

The convention will be divided into four sessions and will focus on the following key questions:
• How will the new generation of consumers shape fashion business?
• How will technology shape the future of fashion business?
• How will fashion education shape the future of fashion business?
• What will the future geography of apparel manufacturing and consumption be?

The convention will kick off on Wednesday evening, October 29th, with a welcome reception in the Maastricht Town Hall, followed by a welcome dinner for all delegates in the Gouvernement in Maastricht. During this dinner, the IAF International Designer Award catwalk show will take place.

Talented young designers from 10 countries will take part in this show. This event also ensures the possibility of networking with international colleagues in the apparel sector. Approximately 300 convention delegates, representing 30 countries, are expected to attend the convention.
