Black Water Designs to distribute CW-X Conditioning Wear
Nov '08
Wacoal Sports Science Corp, makers of CW-X Conditioning Wear, has appointed Black Water Designs (BWD), a division of Barrett Marketing Group Corporation, its exclusive Canadian distributor. BWD, based in Toronto, is also the Canadian licensee of Sierra Designs and Ultimate Direction, and the exclusive distributor for Karrimor products.

BWD has been in business over 25 years in the specialty outdoor retail market and nine years in the specialty running retail market.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to continue to build on CW-X's foundation already established in the Canadian Market,” said Jeff Bean, general manager of Black Water Designs. “CW-X is a key part of realizing Black Water's goal to be the source for great outdoor athletic apparel and equipment in Canada. CW-X, as the original anatomically engineered performance apparel brand, fits our philosophy perfectly.”

Adds John L.A. Wilson, president and COO of Wacoal Sports Science Corp., “Now that CW-X has become available in over 900 sports and outdoor specialty stores in the U.S., we're more focused on achieving even further growth in the Canadian market. Our alliance with BWD, combined with support of the elite level athletes on the Canadian Alpine ski teams, makes us well-positioned to capitalize on the excitement that will build as the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics approach.”

CW-X applies the principles of kinesiology – the study of human movement – to create a line of athletic wear which functions in concert with the body. Built-in patented Conditioning Web technology supports joints and muscles at critical points to enhance performance and help prevent injury and improve athletic performance.

CW-X is the world's first truly anatomically engineered high performance sports apparel. The CW-X Conditioning Web is specifically tuned to provide total support to the key muscle groups and joints of the lower limbs and upper body. CW-X is made for a wide variety of high-energy activities, including running, fitness walking, hiking, cycling, skiing, snowboarding, track and field, and other fitness activities. Wacoal Sports Science has been issued patents for CW-X technology in Japan and Europe, with 12 patents in the U.S. alone.

The product is endorsed by the Canadian Alpine and Para–Alpine Ski teams, and USA Luge team, as well as world–class athletes in a variety of outdoor endurance sports including adventure racing teams, mountain climbers, ultra distance racers, and the company's Sports Medicine Advisory Board.
