USA Luge announced that Teko Socks has agreed to a two-year relationship with the association as its official sock supplier. The Boulder, Colo. based company will provide the U.S. Luge team athletes with synthetic and organic material socks through the 2009-10 racing season.

"Being warm and comfortable while racing at speeds in excess of 90 MPH is critical," stated USA Luge director of marketing and sponsorship Gordy Sheer. "Our athletes will now have warm feet and can focus on sliding down the track thanks to Teko's eco-friendly products."

Designed for performance and comfort, Teko's organic merino wool socks are extremely soft and naturally moisture-wicking. Seamless toes, crush-resistant cushioning and softer, more durable yarns combine for unparalleled sport performance.

Teko strives for balance between people, animals and the planet. Leading the way in the industry, Teko uses a bluesign-certified non-chlorine process for shrink resistance. The sheep are farmed organically with responsible land and water practices. Teko is 100% wind-powered and all socks are made in the USA.

Owen Hammond, General Manager of Teko says, "Teko is thrilled to support the USA Luge organization! Teko's wintersport socks are designed for cold weather sports, where athletes need equipment that provides warmth, support, and proper fit. USA Luge specifically chose Teko socks, and that is a true testament to our socks' ability to insulate and perform in extreme conditions. USA Luge is ahead of the curve in seeking planet-friendly, made-in-the-USA gear for their athletes."

Teko Socks was founded on the belief that performance outdoor socks can be made without leaving a heavy impact on the environment.

Using only quality fibers, sound manufacturing processes, and recycled materials for packaging, Teko ensures that their socks are safe for the environment.
