Sun Mountain unveils new line of outerwear with RainFlex fabric

Dec '08
Apparently, the folks at Sun Mountain have spent considerable time in research and development with their breakthrough RainFlex fabric resulting in a new collection for 2009 called WeatherShield. WeatherShield takes the best qualities of fleece and adds the benefits of RainFlex. The end result is a water resistant, windproof, stetchable RainFlex shell bonded to a soft and warm fleece lining. WeatherShield is available in both Men's Jacket and Reversible Vest styles.

In 2007, Sun Mountain sent shockwaves through the golf outerwear category with the introduction of the lightweight, stretchable, breathable, waterproof and windproof fabric named RainFlex. True to Sun Mountain's heritage, the company is not resting on its laurels. The 2009 RainFlex line, with upgrades in both style and function, and the new WeatherShield line continue to take this incredible fabric even further.

Golfers have long enjoyed the thermal benefits of fleece thanks in large part to Sun Mountain's introduction of GolfFleece in the early '90s. The challenge with fleece has always been the lack of protection from the wind. WeatherShield takes the benefits of fleece and laminates to a weatherproof RainFlex shell to give the golfer the warmth and softness of fleece with the weather protection and stretchability of RainFlex. With bold styling, WeatherShield offers full-weather performance in a totally new look.

The 2009 WeatherShield line includes Men's Full-Zip Jacket in red/black, white/black and black, as well as a Reversible Vest style available in charcoal/black, titanium/lava, red/black, black/charcoal and cactus/titanium. Jacket and Vest both include two zippered hand pockets and stand-up collars for additional weather protection.

In addition to outerwear, for over 25 years, Sun Mountain has been designing and manufacturing functional, high-quality, lightweight golf bags for the serious golfer. Sun Mountain is responsible for many industry firsts, including being the first to use backpacking technology to produce a lightweight nylon golf bag, and being the first to develop a stand bag with integral legs. The Sun Mountain Speed Cart and the new ClubGlider travel bag are leaders in their respective categories.

Sun Mountain is dedicated to finding the most innovative fabrics, the latest manufacturing processes, and the best designs to create a line of performance outerwear that includes rainsuits, windshirts, fleece and the RainFlex collection. Sun Mountain is an officially licensed supplier of outerwear to the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, Duramed Futures Tour, and Nationwide Tour.
