Workshop on draping cloth in traditional ways

The centre for national Culture (NC) has organised a cloth wearing workshop for heads of government departments and institutions in order to preserve the rich Ghanaian culture of dressing up in traditional clothes.
The participants of the workshop were imparted training in draping and wearing cloths for different occasions. Ghana has a vivid traditional culture of draping the cloth like "Konfanko Akyemfo, Asikafoambantem, Me wë me biribi di, Dwabeng Anantuo, Ako Dua, and many more.
People who regularly wear clothes the traditional way, lamented the fact that, westernized culture had corrupted the local society, leading to a fall in people wearing clothes in the traditional Ghanaian style.
They have also suggested that training should be imparted in schools itself so that the culture is ingrained in the minds of the young people from an early age and sustained for generations to come.
They have also suggested organizing these workshops at regular intervals in order to educate the local people on the cultural values of the country and help maintain a unique cultural identity for enhancement of the national heritage.
