Irving Place Capital, a leading middle market institutional private equity firm, announced that it has appointed Peter Boneparth as a Senior Advisor with a focus on the retail and apparel sectors. Mr. Boneparth will support Irving Place Capital's work to identify and opportunistically pursue new investments. His experience will help drive growth and enhance value within the firm's existing portfolio of retail and consumer companies.

Mr. Boneparth is well suited to further strengthen the firm's efforts in the retail sector. He served most recently as chief executive officer of Jones Apparel Group, a leading designer and marketer of apparel and footwear brands. During his time there, Mr. Boneparth expanded its apparel offerings and grew the firm through the acquisitions of Maxwell Shoe Company, Gloria Vanderbilt, Barneys New York, Kasper/Anne Klein and L.E.I. Previously, Mr. Boneparth served as CEO of Jones Moderate Division and also was CEO, president and a board member of McNaughton Apparel Group.

“I am thrilled to be part of Irving Place Capital,” commented Mr. Boneparth. “The firm has a successful history of partnering with management teams and corporations to build brands, identify and integrate acquisitions, and execute other strategic and operational initiatives in retail and apparel. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience in those sectors to contribute to the firm's efforts.”

“Peter brings deep experience and a strong track record of building companies in the retail and apparel industries,” said Rick Perkal, a Senior Managing Director of Irving Place Capital. “I am confident that he will be a valuable addition to our team.”

Previously Mr. Boneparth held positions in investment banking and practiced law with a private firm. He currently sits on the boards of Kohl's Corp. and JetBlue Airways Corp. Mr. Boneparth is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia.
